Jamie Shadid
Jamie brings a wealth of international experience to AidKit, having spent 10 years living, traveling and working abroad.
Jamie spent much of her time in both Spain and Brazil, where she started English language consulting businesses. She was honored to work with the leaders of the indigenous Kuntanawa Nation in the Brazilian Amazon supporting with Portuguese to English interpretations, fostering connections and partnerships as well as helping with fundraising campaigns for projects in the Amazon.
Jamie was brought to the AidKit team during the company's first program, the Left Behind Workers Fund, a full circle moment as she had lived in small communities in Mexico during college while working with families who had previously immigrated to the U.S.
Jamie has a BA in Humanities with focuses in Sociology, Anthropology and Spanish. Additionally she holds certifications in Social Business, CELTA (Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults), Massage Therapy and various healing modalities as well as a being a Certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide.
OUTSIDE OF WORK
Jamie is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and loves speaking those languages any chance she gets!
Dancing samba, Brazilian forro and any other Latin dances bring her great joy as well as hiking, camping, and traveling abroad any chance she gets.
